2009 Recap, Draft Day 2010

Draft Day 2010 is upon us. Its better than Christmas and wayyyyyyy better than Hanukah. What amazing gift will I be given by my fantasy rivals this year? Last year it was Chris Johnson with the 5th pick in the 2nd round. Maybe just maybe, its not having to pick from the damn 8 to 12 hole.

However, before we jump into 2010 lets take a walk down memory lane and look at our 2009 season.

Congratulations to the Gentle Turtles and their victory over The Slowskies in the 2009 Super Bowl. The Gentle Turtles made an impressive resurgence in the latter part of the year to march to victory. Moreover, what’s even more impressive is The Slowskies somehow even made the damn playoffs and then pulled a Super Bowl run out of their ass. Seriously? Its mind blowing. How does a team that drafted Westbrook and Kevin Smith as their starting RBs make the playoffs? The Slowskies had one great draft pick in Miles Austin in the 13th round but proceeded to drop him early in the year. Nonetheless, nice work boys, I guess the biggest secret to doing well in fantasy football is to have some sort of turtle as your team logo.

Congratulations to Caleb for jusssssst squeaking out of having to pay the dreaded last place fee. In addition, congratulations to Tyler who put up a pathetic 1,279 total points but never even had to sweat paying the last place fee due to Myers and Weiner always finding a way to lose. Maybe you guys should get rid of the hate filled offensive team names and try and find some sort of cute reptile name for 2010.

Congratulations to Shul who was by far the worst board bettor. Betting with Shul is like playing poker with Stumblin’, its just free money. Here are some of Shul’s gems from 2009: Cowboys will not have a winning 2009 record, and my personal favorite Leftwich will outscore Romo.

Good luck to everyone in 2010. I hope all your wildest fantasy dreams come true.

Cheers

The Commish
